Spondylosis

What it is:
Spondylosis refers to the bony growths on the vertebrae in the spine. Problems can occur when these bone growths interfere with the spinal cord or nerves.

Spondylosis is a degenerative disease that occurs in most people as they age, and is usually a result of disc degeneration that has been left untreated.

Where it occurs:
Bulging or herniated discs can appear in the:

	Neck (cervical spine)
	Low back (lumbar spine)
	Middle and upper back (thoracic spine)

The Symptoms:
Patients with spondylosis may experience:

	Stiffness
	Pain
	Numbness
	Tingling
	Weakness
