DRS Low Back pain Treatment: Helping to make back surgery a thing of the past

Why DRS?
Sitting. Lifting. Bending. Walking...

We often take these simple movements for granted until something - like low back pain - happens to make them painful or even impossible. Low back pain is the second most common reason people visit their doctor - and the second most common reason people miss work. It is estimated that 85 percent of us will experience low back pain at some point in our lives and 15 percent of people have low back pain right now. This number is climbing at an astounding rate every year.

Low back problems, which can result in pain and numbness in the low back, buttock, hips, legs and feet, can be caused by several factors. The most common factors include herniated or bulging discs, subluxations, degenerating discs or arthritis.

DRS is a highly effective, non-surgical form of disc decompression therapy, which has been shown to help relieve low back pain in nearly nine out of ten patients. The DRS system, which was approved by the FDA in the mid-1990s, removes pressure from the discs and joints in the lower back.

We are committed to providing safe, effective, non-surgical, low back pain treatment. It’s why we brought the cutting-edge Decompression Reduction Stabilization (DRS) system to Alaska in 2000.

Advanced technology for the treatment of pain.

In each 30-minute session, the patient lies back on the treatment bed under a relaxing, blue light.

What can I expect?
In each 30-minute session, the patient lies back on the treatment bed under a relaxing, blue light. The decompression treatment, which can target specific areas of the spine, is monitored by a technician. The process is so safe, painless and relaxing that many patients actually fall asleep during treatment.

Our unique DRS treatment program typically includes 20 to 25 sessions over a five to six week period. They are typically followed by chiropractic care and rehabilitation. Most insurance companies cover DRS treatment and, unlike surgery, there is no recovery period.

"I’ve had severe chronic low back pain for about five years. The DRS System has benefited me in tremendous ways. The DRS treatment definitely has made a difference in my life."

"The DRS really works! The pain in my right leg is gone!!! I am a believer! "

"I had a laminectomy, (a major back surgery), 20 years ago, and it gave me some relief. But since that time, the pain has been gradually increasing. I have had especially intense low back pain for the last year. It was hard for me to get out of bed in the morning and do certain types of housework. As I was doing the DRS treatment, I was able to get out of bed easier and had noticed that I was having less pain during the day. Today I am totally pain-free."
