DRS System and Low Back Pain Treatment

Sitting. Lifting. Bending. Walking. We often take these simple movements for granted until something – like lower back pain – happens to make them painful or even impossible. Lower back pain is the second most common reason people visit their doctor – and the second most common reason people miss work.

In fact, it is estimated that 85 percent of us will experience lower back pain at some point in our lives, and 15 percent of people have lower back pain right now. The number of people with back pain – and chronic back pain – is climbing at an astounding rate every year.

Low back problems, which can result in pain and numbness in the low back, buttock, hips, legs and feet, can be caused by several factors. The most common factors contributing to low back pain include herniated or bulging discs, subluxations, degenerating discs or arthritis.

In each 30-minute DRS system session, the patient lies back on the treatment bed under a relaxing, blue light. The decompression treatment, which is monitored by a technician, uses a traction device to target specific areas of the spine. The process is so safe, painless and relaxing that many patients actually fall asleep during treatment! After treatment, many patients report immediate back pain relief.

Our unique DRS system treatment program typically includes 20 to 25 sessions over a five to six week period. These sessions are typically followed by chiropractic care and rehabilitation. Most insurance companies cover DRS system treatment and, unlike back surgery, there is no recovery period.
