Your Spine
Your spine is part of and protects one of the most amazing body systems- your nervous system.

Without a healthy nervous system, your body cannot receive the messages your brain is sending-messages that tell your body to breathe. To touch. To feel. To move. To circulate blood. To speak.

Your spine and nervous system is made up of several parts, including your:

Brain - which sends messages to your body
Spinal cord - which links your brain to the rest of your body
Spinal nerves - which extend out from the spinal cord and deliver your brain's messages to the rest of your body
Vertebrae - which are moveable bones that protect the spinal cord and allow you to move freely
Discs - which act as spacers and shock absorbers between each vertebra.

Problems in the spine affect the ability of your nervous system to deliver your brain's messages, meaning your body is not working as well as it should.

At Better Health Pain and Wellness Centers, we treat many of the common conditions affecting your your nervous system.

Neck and back pain is something most people have experienced – or will in the future. In fact, it’s estimated about 70 percent of us will suffer from neck pain at some point in our lives. And 85 percent of us will have trouble with low back pain!

This is because as you age, your spine becomes weaker and less flexible, causing it to be more susceptible to problems. Without proper care, these problems can affect your ability to live a healthy, pain-free life.

Common spinal conditions include:

Annular tear
Arthritis
Disc bulges/herniation
Disc degeneration
Headaches
Instability
Radiculopathy
Sciatica
Scoliosis
Spondylosis
Sprains
Stenosis
Subluxations
Whiplash

Even if pain is not in the spine area (neck or back), the following conditions may be caused by, or made worse by, problems originating in the spine.

Common non-spinal conditions that may be spine-related include:

Bursitis
Carpal tunnel syndrome
Shoulder Pain/Impingement/Rotator Cuff Problems
Tendonitis
